Shutting us down – 3/2/26

I hope everyone is doing okay.

For weeks Director 1 has been going back and forth between the MD and myself. She will normally come to me and ask questions that only I am able to answer. Truly she relies on me instead of actually caring to make notes or keep track. She goes back to the MD and tries to repeat my words and fails at it. MD “LAU” gets confused and causes friction between MD “LAU” and myself because of the inaccurate messages. I suspect Director 1 blames me for whatever the situation in the end. Not shocking to me now. I say it because I see the pattern over and over.

Director 1 has attempted to manipulate me to create an exercise budget for her that needs to be turned in to her MD and I declined. She has been lying about a contract being fully executed when it has not. The MD believes it has or will be soon? The supplier has threatened to shut our portal down due to non-payment. It’s not the first time we’ve been in this situation from what I hear. She’s nervous on the call with me and stressing to hide the fact that not much has been done. She’s asking me to do a requisition to begin the process of generating a purchase order to eventually pay the supplier. She asks, “What is a requisition?” Me: What? You don’t know what that is? 😳 I explain it.

Me: What is the amount? Her: Let me ask? Me:Why do you have to ask? Do you not know how much has been spent? Her: I was told to pay what has been completed. Me: Okay, what is the amount? Her: Have you gotten any invoices? Me: No, I’m not the primary contact. Her: I don’t know. Me: I’m going to make the executive decision and create the requisition for 5 months since we’re already 5 months into year one of this project. If I should add more funds to the purchase order for the remaining then you need to tell me that.

How can she continue to operate like this? She should’ve allowed me to look at the contract and she didn’t and she herself couldn’t think enough to look and give me an answer. Going from one lie to cover another lie is not a good business practice because you don’t want your boss to know you are not cut out, you might be, but don’t care enough to. She will just point the finger at the legal department and say they have delayed it when in fact she’s has not responded. I might not be the smartest person, but I understand and can explain my work. I can safely say I’m not their cup of tea. It doesn’t bother me because I have the truth and neither of the two will approach me or question me.

I’m still going to do my job because it’s the right thing to do. Any non-action will affect a lot more than just us three. I can rest with the fact that we won’t be shut down. I am not going to be upset at the fact that I have to stop being busy to make this a priority, it’s my job and I made a leadership decision. The rest can stay with her. All the Best!
