Friday reflection – sharing through differences – 5/1/26

Hope everyone is doing okay. Today was eerily quiet at work. I guess they are all tired of having debates with me. I’m used to the chaos and busy work. Not sure if others are off today or it’s the weather since it’s been raining non-stop for almost 24hours straight. I had a couple tasks go right and close those up. I started a few others simultaneously that I had been procrastinating just because they are long and tedious to complete with no deadline. I will have to explain to others in detail. It’s a struggle no one wants to get on a call, only email. It would be easier to explain through a call instead of writing a story.

I feel that I’m breaking free from others idea of their expectations of me. It’s weird how they all think it’s okay. I’m here to help, but not responsible to keep track of their tasks. I don’t believe they understand the difference or it’s a “out of sight, out of mind” mindset. I am putting up boundaries and getting a bit of drama. No big deal. I’m trying to keep things in check and responding calmly. I still shared my work, training, and my knowledge despite other attitudes of seeing things differently from my perspective. It took a lot of effort not to respond unprofessional.

My son’s birthday party was today at Lucky Strike bowling center since there were no other party locations available. We had a blast! It was a great ending to another tough week. He also plays soccer and scored one goal on his birth date 5/2/26, Saturday. I am so proud of my little guy. All the Best!
