I hope everyone is doing okay.

The laptop charging cord crapped out on me and it had nothing to do with my USB connections and HDMI cables to extend the display monitors. I found one lying around and I had to improvise of keeping the laptop in one specific spot to charge and be able to keep working. It’s working for now. I need a new laptop. I received second-hand equipment when I came on board. The HR team had loaners, but were not updated to the most recent security standards, my boss said to buy a new one and I will have to wait 2 weeks and one will be shipped then. Well, thanks for helping and your understanding…(sarcasm). I haven’t felt part of a team at all because when I came on board quite a few things were denied while others got everything they requested like take home monitors, docking stations, and other computer accessories. The administrator himself told me no. Luckily I had one personal monitor and I purchased everything else I needed out of pocket. The person that didn’t want to hire me I proved wrong even though I didn’t think about it until now and erased doubt of others that didn’t believe I could understand or complete this massive budget project. If no one else was able to manage this project in the past they thought I wouldn’t be able to. Director 2 gave me a new laptop from her stock and purchased a web camera, and offered other accessories, but I already purchased them on my own. Very grateful to her of course.

The “corner” as I call them which is the team I report to really don’t know how to treat their staff, well at least me I guess I came at the wrong time for them? Not sure.

I met with the sponsor one final time for feedback on the budget sheets and ask final questions. Mostly everyone else seems to have “beef” with the sponsor’s template of budget sheets. I have worked with these types of sheets when I previously worked for the state of Texas education system and I’m familiar with their templates, but if I say anything they will think I’m just showing off so I just kept my mouth zipped and laughed 😂inside. Back to meeting with the sponsor. I made a few corrections per the sponsor and received additional guidance. This is my first cycle with these budget sheets and this type of project so it’s important to me that I stay in close contact with the sponsor. A couple of my co-workers reviewed my work and agreed with my sheets and I was excited about it. I had a justification and my budget numbers made sense with the correct details. I am happy with the results, worked with the medical doctor a bit about their adjustments.

The long hours and nights paid off. I really took a lot of time to understand the program budget needs. All the Best!
