I hope everyone is doing okay. I was having a good morning getting my day organized and chatting via teams with Director 2 answering questions regarding her budgets. Then she began to explain to me that she had an awkward conversation with MD “LAU,” “I was given a directive that I am not the head of the program you have to go to the MD directly.” Oh okay, so weird? She didn’t understand why the MD would’ve said something like that to her. There was no indication to her that a comment would come up like this and that Director 2 copies her (MD) on emails that require her approval.

As I listened I was confused about the whole situation and then there is a knock at my door. I get off the call with Director 2 and answer my office door. It’s MD “LAU,” please walk with me. I asked if everything was okay. I was let to her chair. It felt like going to the principal’s office. Speaking in code she tried to explain to me that there was some internal situation but without going into details MD “LAU” begins to tell me that she’s the boss. She’s the head of the program and not one or the other of her Director’s. I am only assuming they are not getting along. I was also given a directive that I am to go to her only to make decisions, but I have. I have sent each and every email to her and her Directors. I was under the impression any decision made I accepted because they mostly agreed on everything, but MD “LAU” never replied. She always has allowed one or the other to approve. I never needed to check with her? Okay, well understood. I have maintained a good working relationship with them even though I don’t agree with both MD “LAU” and Director 1 decisions. They never have made sense or logical, but I didn’t question unless it’s really wrong or had enough information to push back. MD “LAU” tells me she’s the face and not Director 2.

I’m mostly positive there’s been disagreements of the decision making and causes competition. She’s going to handle moving forward and if I don’t respond I can go to the higher ups and report her. LOL! 🙂‍↔️🫨🙄 That’s a bit exaggerating, but I just ignored it. Okay, works for me. 😂

It was odd Director 1 is out of the office, again. It seems like each month she’s out one week. She’s been quite a bit lately. Maybe she’s upset about our call from yesterday (3/17/26). Director 1 pretty much embarrassed herself and all of a sudden it feels like Director 2 and I are being reprimanded. 😎 I think someone threw a temper tantrum. LOL! As usual I get stuck with her work, I don’t report to her, I’m not a Director either. Even though I know I was not directly reprimanded, but it surely felt that way. I work well with both, but I think Director 1 showed she is not qualified to do this job? She does pass the buck to me a lot and good it might have been a good thing, don’t wish MD “LAU” any bad, but she was trying to get well from a cold and couldn’t shout at me any louder. 🤨 I did show her how much work I am completing for her Director 1 and with no reaction. I forward several emails again waiting for Director 1 and copied MD “LAU.” I really thought MD “LAU” was going to take action and did not. I’m still waiting for Director 1 to return from vacation.

Director 2 has always been responsive, available, and on target with her projects. I really don’t want to call it favoritism, but based on the events today. I cannot call it anything else. As usual missing in action (MIA). All the Best!
