Past due – morning fires – 10/23/25

I hope everyone is doing okay. I didn’t have good sleep last night and woke up with a bad headache. I’m also taking medication for a tooth ache and makes me sleepy 🥱 too 😪. I have a pending dental appointment because I seem to have an infection under a tooth at the back of my mouth. I hope it’s not worst than this as I have to keep seeking treatment. The fires already started early this morning about returning project cash back to the sponsor. It’s not an easy task because this organization doesn’t operate as effective as it should if compared to other workplaces in this particular industry.

I had to call the sponsor myself to immediately respond to the incorrect information provided to them by our central finance office. I don’t understand how they get it wrong when I provided specifics to our internal finance department. Now I had to intervene and do their job. I assured the sponsor I would correct the error myself and communicate directly to all parties and that we were in agreement with the number she and I previously spoke of. It seems simple to express here, but the steps it takes to complete for one task at this organization can take hours, checking and following up because people don’t read.

MD “LAU” is at it again stopping the progress of signing the new agreement. She has been away for a few days and suddenly we all have to stop the operation because she has concerns. I responded to her emails the budget are correct with the exception of 2 budget lines and we can come back and adjust if necessary on an active agreement. We cannot stop the progress because it affects several other projects within the same agreement and goals that are being affected. I have both internal and external offices calling on me and asking what is the status and the hold-up? Another fire at the top of my list early this morning.

On a good note the payroll lady is at work and is no longer working against me. She is asking questions and checking with me that her entries are correct. She stopped copying her boss. She’s making entries by project and checking. Okay, I don’t have the time now, but once she’s done I’ll have to go back and review. I shouldn’t have to, but in the end it’s my position on the line, not her. All the Best!
