I hope everyone is doing okay. It starts at the top. You see how they operate and perform especially how they hire and it trickles down. I came here in Jan 2025, hard year for me the whole year. At times when I think back like now I should’ve stayed where I was, but here I am, not turning back. My reward for reaching an agreement and cleaning up their $3M deficit is with silence, envy, and lonely.
A top performer and a great co-worker quit and her last day is 10/17/25. I completely understand her. She’s drained as I am. Our job was basically clean up and do everything else because of one person’s incompetence for a 3-year period. They won’t even thank you or acknowledge from the so called “leaders.” The department has lost a top performer because she has carrying low performers job and follow through. They forced her to come out of her vacation time to do work and didn’t credit the time back so she could take it at another time. The same is not done to her co-workers and screams a lot. It’s frustrating. I am considering following her and start to look for a new job. Some can’t and others don’t want to work and make the difficult decisions. I do it for them as they say we will leave it to you since you are the “mean” one. No, I just follow the rules and they just try to do whatever they want.
I don’t follow people, I lead when it comes to work and no others at this department. My departure will mean a lot more to them than my silence. The so called leaders don’t know in which direction we’re going and don’t talk about it so it means there is no plan to grow or where we stand. Very sad. No one wants to put their firing pants on and start holding people accountable. All the Best!
