I hope everyone is doing okay. I started applying to other jobs and I did today for a supervisor position. I think others can benefit from my experience. I haven’t been in a supervisor role in a long while. I stepped back when I delivered my son 👶🏼 to a lesser role, less stress or I thought I did because the positions I’ve held since you would think they are supervisor roles, but without the pay. 💰 It was an instant decision, I didn’t have to think 💭 about it.
This department has a lot of issues that are more than just work, actually the people that have oversight or in supervisor roles really don’t supervise, but are great 👍 with patients. They have a hands-off approach as I’ve witnessed over and over or they meddle where they really shouldn’t. The lead managers have their hands 🙌 on simple detailed tasks rather than really engaging in something more ‼️ 🚨 alarming and serious in nature. I took over 97% of the work single-handedly with no oversight or support from anyone. I documented, negotiated, communicated, stabilized, and the face of this $3M deficit. 💸 Leads are engaged in $15K, $20K, and $35K deficits from other project accounts and finding offset for these. This doesn’t make any sense to me. They never took me or this deficit 😒 seriously 😳! They have never thought to support me or intervene at times of getting 🔥 burned so many times.
Today my boss says, “Please include me in your next call ☎️ with the sponsor.” Huh? 🤔 Why now? As I am writing ✍️ my reflection for today it dawned on me. He’s trying to add his support somehow in my duties even if he joins my calls. Is he observing me or wants to take credit for my work? It’s very questionable 🤨. No way!
On another note, I was a nervous 😬 wreck. I wrote a blog (9/8/25) of a staff person. This person obviously needs training as I told the MD and it was kicked back to her Director which I spoke to about getting the staff person some training. I sent the Director my training profile. There was supposed to be a conversation with the staff person. Not sure if this has taken place and I doubt it because the staff person emailed me today if we already had active project accounts to make invoice payments. I replied, “Moving forward you need a fully executed contract, encumber the full amount of one year’s payments, and pay each invoice 🧾 against the purchase order. There will no longer be one 1️⃣ purchase order to one 1️⃣ invoice. We have to keep better track of the budget and payments together. This is a better business practice. All the Best!
