I hope everyone is doing okay. Despite being super busy everyone was needing my time today via email, Teams, text, and phone. Today was also our big meeting with the sponsor on our new budgets for the next 2 years. I tried my best to provide the guidance and support to all. It was a long influx of communication. It was weird.

The only opinion of me is mine. I was ready to take a verbal beating to talk about the good and bad news including a high deficit in the millions. Shockingly it didn’t happen, both the sponsor and our team went through the agenda and ultimately went well. We are working through the deficit and will come up with a plan soon between the sponsor’s financial and contract manager and myself.

Before the big meeting something happened that between an MD “CZ” as I’ll call her and I discovered and were also questioning 🤨 the individual budget for one of twelve initiatives. It didn’t make sense to us. I questioned it via email to MD “LAU”. She as usual shrugged off my concern. 🙁 Then, “Oh my gosh!” She responded an hour later again that we were right. Wow! 😮 We were missing one whole budget, but the sponsor confirmed that what we submitted back on May 2024 was awarded as is? The person that submitted the budget before me completely missed a whole budget. There was no funding for this specific initiative. MD “LAU” as I call her came back with a different tone, as I spoke to her via Teams her tone was of defeat, non-witty, and gave up. She asked for my opinion? What!? No? She came to me for input and I couldn’t believe it. She asked me to figure out a workaround with MD “CZ.” And off I went to the meeting and would have to figure how to fund the initiative from another initiative. I’ll have to move funds around, but will have to wait. We don’t have a contract yet. All the Best!
