Friday reflection – major progress – 5/23/25

I hope everyone is doing okay. Boom! I did it! I have completed the research and didn’t give up. I put everything into my work and it paid off. I am celebrating myself. The sponsor finally accepted my finance report. I gave them every transaction for the life of the project, errors, and funding needed. Action time! Why did it take so long? The sponsor just kept asking for more.

The person I worked with (sponsor) attempted to treat me like a child as if I didn’t know what I was doing. I’m a middle-aged woman! I cut her off and asked her to open the drop-down and filter the information she needed as its an excel workbook. I stayed calm and collected. She was able to tie back with her numbers and reporting. I’m sure she was all sorts of dramatic and telling chaotic stories to her colleagues making assumptions of me these prior months. I have been cordial and have had to ignore a lot not just from her but from within my organization as well. I can now begin the second phase of clean up and begin offsetting the million dollar deficit sitting on this project.

Secondly, I had a finance review with a medical doctor today too. I’ll call him “SE.” “You’re on fire!” Me: “Thank you!.” During the finance review with him he was pleased at the progress we have made and the work to catch many transactions that could’ve been errors.

I am happy, going into the weekend having discovered and learned so much, rest, and come back to do it all over again next week to begin slaying dragons. Hopefully the rest will begin to treat me with much better attitude, unclog their negative mindset. All the Best!
