I hope everyone is doing okay.
I am exhausted, working a lot, and still have drama at work. I have accounting entries to adjust, correct, and move posted charges to the proper project accounts. The communication that I put out of budgets being low has settled on everyone. The news came like a bomb, they want to blame the messenger, but they realize they cannot. I’m glad I got the message out in time to make the proper adjustments otherwise it would’ve been a disaster.
I have to stay positive through each challenge. I spent three weeks trying to assist a medical doctor with adjusting her budget and creating a wish list to get approval on a new strategy of applying funds toward expanding services to non-profit clinics. We were shut down and our budget revision wasn’t even considered, only to two clinics was approved. I am dedicating a lot of time toward something so small, a pilot program, but I learned a bigger lesson. The doctor thanked me through it all and it just dawned on me through this exercise that I actually learned something. One, creating budgets for services when we really expand in our next fiscal year and two, how to translate the crazy budget sheets the sponsor provides from decimals to percent. I thanked her because they calculate time spent in a medical project as a decimal and not a percent, weird. All the Best!
