I hope everyone is doing okay. She won’t stop being feisty. She’s not supporting anyone, volunteering at department events, won’t do any favors for others. I guess she wants to be paid and not do anything? She voluntarily took on completing a program report for an investigator, a role I specifically asked if she was willing to do otherwise, I’d take it over and she was adamant to keep it and continue. Then…
After many mistakes and whatever else is going on with her she wants to back track. No, she cannot tell me she’s handing the reigns over to me when the supervisor which I just met yesterday didn’t mention it. She’s been trying to steadily get rid of any work. Why? What changed recently that she’s had to dump all her work to my friend and also co-worker and myself? The cat lady sent me a bunch of zoom messages (8 exactly) of what all I’m supposed to do and that it’s now my problem. I told her I wasn’t going to say or look at anything at the moment because I was too busy and that I would bring it up at our Monday meeting. We’re going to have a frank conversation about all of this and why are we (2 people) suddenly carrying the weight of one whole department? The cat lady was readily available to help initially and now she’s dumping at us with no advance notice.
This is the wrong approach to take when you need help. You can’t just send someone zoom messages and give them a new project without explanation especially that it’s not coming from your supervisor. Why? What is happening? All the Best!
