“Out of Sight – out of mind” – 5/8/24

I hope everyone is doing okay.

I have been working steadily, one thing after another. Working from home allows me to get a lot more done. I’m working diligently to get tasks completed in a timely manner. Investigators rely on me to begin taking action on the administrative end so they can begin and complete their scope of work.

It seems like my workload is picking up again?! I’m a little nervous because the last couple months have been really hectic and challenging because I had to learn the project financials and goals, this took a lot longer because some projects were already ongoing. How did I do it? I can’t even recall how I have been able to navigate all of this so that I can repeat it again? There are so many different scenarios with each project because they are all so different and be able to stay on track for each. I have yet another new project with a new agency that not only do I have to learn the agency, but compliance and work. I am praying it all turns out okay for me, then I can be ready to take a break for myself.

Year-end is coming as well, and I hope that it doesn’t affect me as much, but I haven’t heard anything on it, a “head up” or any communication if how much of the year-end list will affect me? She doesn’t put herself in my shoes, doesn’t think to be proactive, or how things will affect others before making decisions and will respond to emails that don’t directly address the question/s. The many moving parts and compliance is important for any project and it’s definitely a disservice to the investigator when you don’t provide a full picture from a budget or compliance point of view. So, I come in behind her and correct all the communication and it’s not sitting well with her. This is really not a team player and/or team effort. Things get past her and only recognizes the effect from her emotional view only. My job is to see things from a logical perspective. All the Best!
