I hope everyone is doing okay. I’m being stretched thin. If anyone watched gumby back in the day (90’s) that’s me today. Everyone needs something from me and it hasn’t stopped since the beginning of the year, two weeks ago. I’m still in my element with more confidence each day that passes. I gladly take in all the information, share, train, and follow up. Even though there’s a couple tasks that have been ongoing for a month and a half, taking baby steps it’s still moving. I’m still in a good mood, going from task to task much quicker than last year. My knowledge has increased and I hope I’m not stopped.

And then I got stopped! Once again I got another bomb dropped on my lap. Because of the decisions made back in October 2024, the lead person at that time shorted the budget, did not submit the accurate amount/s then and for future needs it now has had cascading effects. We have no budget in year 1 for 3 programs! Now I understand why this department has not been able to keep high performers because low performers are not dealt with but tolerated only because they have longevity. Easily can point them out. I’m thoughtful of my time, deleted calls that are irrelevant to me, and focus more on the action tasks.

I have to now focus on another department-wide mess and think through the next steps and figure out how to find funds for 3 programs and avoid them being discontinued. The next 8 months will be a bumpy ride. All the Best!
