Effort and stability – 8/19/25

I hope everyone is doing okay. I take responsibility and I take it all the way through to completion. I take ownership once I get my hands on anything whether it be my task or not. I have faced all sorts of obstacles. Some people have only one job and can’t even do that. I do write about the excessive work, but at the end of the day I won’t go down without a fight.

I get push back on the adjustments that I need to make to a budget, and I have to tell them it’s not my changes they are changes that are part of the contract. Why email me? Check before you send me an email that makes no sense and puts blame on me. They don’t explain how the budget revision form is supposed to be completed, but in the end, I figured it out. I barely at today as my calendar was so full.

The supply chain team at least took responsibility for the error on their part and now I’m waiting for them to set up a vendor to be able to make payment. The young lady was trying to circumvent the system which was the lack of training and I had to explain the process and the regulation behind the project and the restrictions. I was able to catch the situation on time and correct it and follow the rules.

I am putting every effort into my job to bring stability to this department, but I feel every time I make a turn there is another issue to deal with. It just seems no one sees me, and no one understands my role. As long as it’s not them.

And then here comes “DD” again as I call him to try and wreck the streamline process and it just feels this way. I was assigned 5 new incoming projects. My reputation and that of this organization is on the line and he doesn’t seem to get it! This is not gossip or hearsay, this is a fact. The department has had to pay for project expenses of over $200K that were not billed and not reimbursed by the sponsor because “DD” and his team were late and the project ended. This worries me because I only need him to stay out of my way. If he doesn’t it will throw a wrench to the stability I have thus built and stain our reputation. I have worked too hard to build this up just to potentially watch my work and reputation be wrecked by the careless. All the Best!
