I hope everyone is doing okay. So I start my day opening my email and the first I read is from the finance central office. The office received a check to reimburse a project I was assigned to and started working on. We were already behind in our financial reporting and I worked on it for days to be able to meet the report deadline. I oversee two research projects that started this year in addition to what I already have ongoing.

The Director tells me that it doesn’t match their number. Instead of asking me if I could provide any information on the payment I’d gladly do it. I have been doing their job of handling all the expenses, reporting, and billing. They have not bothered to tell me we have this project what is our role in this? I just don’t see the purpose of having this department they have only helped in this department’s demise of allowing to overspend on a different project and a topic of conversation for another time. I don’t trust this department either so I took it upon myself to do the work. If they had not received a reimbursement for the work completed they wouldn’t have asked or taken action to do their job.

I gave them a detailed explanation of the work already completed and that I would continue to oversee these projects. They asked for me to upload a copy of all the work already completed and submitted to the sponsor. They didn’t even say Thanks. What a crock of…!

If I hadn’t taken the lead we would’ve been out of compliance. They just sit there and wait for these things to come to them and do not take any action. Unbelievable how these people operate. All the Best!
