2 call it “quits” – 11/17/24

I hope everyone is doing okay. I didn’t expect it, but it happened. My friend and also co-worker called it quits too! On Friday 11/15/24, unexpectedly my friend called it quits too. She also had enough. Both the cat lady and supervisor thought they could manipulate her into taking a huge workload as well. My friend decided to strike back in her own way.

The cat lady attempted to force her to work long hours on a Friday evening by sending messages via zoom, email, and personal texts. All three forms of communication had the same message. In my opinion, a little overboard, unnecessary, and childish. My friend had enough and called it quits too! There was no point in either of us to remain. The retaliation that began with my co-worker is unfair and overwhelming.

My friend and I traveled back to our offices and returned the work equipment in our possession for remote work and walked away. We’re an at-will state, so either party can terminate employment or resign, but it’s standard practice to notify with two-week’s notice but not required.

As I got in my car, I felt a huge burden had been lifted. I chose to not return through 11/20/24, not out of spite, but I will not allow for anyone to undervalue my work, micromanage, and defame my name to save their skin all at the same time and think I will sit and collaborate for 3 more days. That would be insane of me to do. Even though I didn’t get closure, there’s nothing to look back to here. Let my freedom ring! All the Best!
