I hope everyone is doing okay.

It’s month #8 of working at this organization. It’s not slowing down and today was no different. I do have to say that I am working different, disregard the gossip, but I still hear the rumors. The co-worker (cat lady) is suddenly quiet. There hasn’t been any crazy noise coming from the other end of the hallway. I wondered why until today. I received several emails with and as I researched the co-worker made several mistakes and I received details. Now I understand why she’s been defensive, ugly to others, and tries to deflect unto others, distant, and angry. Her emails are very defensive, “I just do what he tells me to do.”

I met with investigator #1 who expressed to me that the co-worker failed to follow up and acknowledged she forgot about completing particular tasks on time that resulted in losing time and budget funds. Secondly, I asked twice if she had any emails from the past that might be able to help us charge an investigator back for money owed. When brought up again for the third time, 2 months later she came up with an email despite being asked twice. We lost funds for this as well, it was too late. I don’t know if she gave a reason as to why she didn’t follow up. Incredible she wasn’t reprimanded. It was just swept under the rug and ignored by the supervisor.

There’s a lot going on and most don’t seem to care, but then I’ll stay in my lane then and continue on doing what is my responsibility, making it right by the investigator and correcting what is salvageable. All the Best!
