I hope everyone is okay. I’m sure everyone has at some point been in meetings that are a waste of time.
I don’t like meetings especially when there is no productivity and nothing on the agenda, a waste of time. Our meetings are dreadful when you have someone that normally asks, “Does anyone have anything to discuss?” There is talk about nothing really and “Okay, well ya’ll have a good day.”
I have a one-on-one scheduled that is coming up. I’m sure it will be about giving me more work, I see it coming. Is there anything I should be ready for? What will be discussed? Most of our meetings are canceled. Let’s see how long these meetings will last. We have no structure as a group. If we try to talk about what we have going on it’s ignored because it’s not of interest to no one else but the person who has the role. What’s the point of meetings? Here we go again the supervisor stirring things up. I guess she’s not in a good mood. She’s being a mean girl to my friend and tried it with me and I shut her down. My day was going okay, quiet, and productive. As usual there’s friction when she gets involved.
She sends me this weird zoom message about investigator #3 from yesterday. There’s no point to her question, Her: “How’s it going? Me: “Okay, just working on a couple things.” Her: “Investigator #3 is easy to work with.” Me: “Yes, he’s a little green, but welcomes the help.” Her: “Great!” I don’t know if she’s checking up on me or really cares? Then she goes to my friend and begins to worry about whether things are getting done for the upcoming events. She takes my friend’s list and begins to delegate some of her tasks. My friend already had her strategy of how she would work through it all. It didn’t sit well with her, but she had to let it go. The supervisor comes back to my friend and tells her that there is a checklist to be completed today before she leaves the office. My friend is flabbergasted that she doesn’t have all the details, stresses her out just to come back and tell her it can be finished tomorrow. She’s walking away mumbling under her breath, “I’m stressed.” She abruptly closes the office tomorrow. “DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE, EVERYONE IS REMOTE TOMORROW, MORE NEWS TO COME.”
Really?! She is stressed. What about the rest of us, she doesn’t allow us to work remote when we’re stressed? I wonder why the office is closed. I would bet it’s something insignificant. All the Best!
