I hope everyone is doing okay. A whole week of adventure and setbacks, but worth it.
We met and saw wonderful things driving to DisneyWorld in Florida.
We had a one-night stay in Mobile, Alabama which has great food, very calm, cozy city. It’s like a start-up city. The food is super good. The seafood is the best. Had great gumbo, fried ocra, and seafood. I learned Mardi Gras really started in Mobile, Alabama, but was introduced and grew in Louisiana. Who would’ve thought! We visited the museum, a fort, and toured the city a little. We had breakfast at a fantastic restaurant, The Red Slipper, missed going to the Haunted bookstore in downtown before we’re off to Panama City, Florida.
We had a small set back due to the Hurricane Debby that hit the Florida panhandle. We did see some damage, but seemed people were more than ready. Florida has powerful infrastructure and it was very visual. We passed through Destin and did a quick stop, but was beautiful. We drove for a while, made it a road trip, laughing and reading a great book, but stayed in Panama City, Florida before we headed to DisneyWorld. We were exhausted.
We finally arrived to our destination Tuesday afternoon (8/13/24) to the Disney Pop Studio hotel, ate, and went straight to the Magic Kingdom in time to visit, snack, and watch the firework show at night. Truly magical! We forgot how tired we were from the roadtrip. It was all worth it. Wednesday was the EPCOT center, such a blast with their roller coaster rides, Moana, and the variety of cultural foods. Incredible, I love to eat so it was right down my alley. The 3D films and kids’ rides were perfect day for us. My son’s first major roller coaster going about 70mph. He took it like a champ. We ended our night with going to the pool, it was a great ending to our hot, exhaustive, and fun day. Thursday was straight to Hollywood Studio’s. Wow! I haven’t had so much fun, and my inner child was happy and rambunctious just like my son. I never had such fun, not even as a kid. The Chinese Theatre, Indiana Jones live show, runaway railway which the 3D animation was incredible! Then we were off to the Hollywood Tower, Star Wars, and Toy Story. A great day of laughter, fun, and great food. I understand why adults vacation here as well; the pool was our last stop.
We departed Friday, the technology is amazing, and easy payment of food and event entrance and parking all at your fingertips on one bracelet. The food wasn’t great with the exception of Hollywood Studios. There was another road trip back to Mobile, Alabama. We returned to Wintzell’s Seafood, and they had a street festival full of color and arts, music, jewelry, and pottery. We enjoyed our time here. Such a wonderful and upcoming city. I’m returning home different tomorrow. All the Best!
