I hope everyone is doing okay. I immediately made the decision to let go of this conversation. It didn’t stress me. I did get my “hand slapped”, but for a situation that I didn’t pick either or was involved from the beginning.

The investigator commented, “ya’ll are negligent” and invoices never get out on time”, wasn’t really toward me. My job was to deliver the bad news and action to be taken that he would have to eat the cost of the project that went into the red. He was so upset and I attempted to explain my understanding of the situation and ask the company to cover the amount in red and move on because this project was old from 5 years ago.

The ego kicked in and he attempted to reduce me to alluding being incompetent. It bothered me, but didn’t hurt. I tried to empathize with him only to be shut down. He did confirm to close the project not knowing he owed money. I get being upset, but there’s no reason to try to bring me down. I’ll give him credit for acknowledging it had nothing to do with me.
