I was set up – 6/27/23

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing okay.

It’s completely funny now, it didn’t even upset me. I frowned at what this organization spends their technology dollars on. I received an email today that looked weird from teams asking me to click the button with a message. I only thought it was legitimate because I have received similar emails with the same layout and content so I clicked on it. I didn’t think it was a phishing email even though there was a message about phishing at the top of the email.

Once I clicked it went to a weird email and I thought Ohh!! Was it a phishing email? And then I let it go, closed it and delete it. The next day 6/28/23 I received a follow up email saying I clicked on a phishing email. I immediately went back to the initial email and noticed it came from an unknown person/email address. As I continued reading I was full of fear it explained I was required to take video training because I didn’t report it, not to share with anyone else that this was part of simulation phishing training. My boss was copied on the email. After I took a deep breath and my blood pressure back to normal I took the dumb training and moved on. I let it go. It’s a waste of dollars and of course it happens to me. SMH! I hope your day was better than mine. All the best!

Part of an email simulation training? I have work to do!
